The Jaguar Rescue Center!!

Hey, guys! This blog post was written by one of my best friends. She came to visit me in Costa Rica. So, for once, I get to sit back and relax. I am proud to present....this blog's very first guest blog post. Yay! Go C Frey!

On my adventure in Costa Rica with my family, we visited a place in Punta Uva called The Jaguar Rescue Center.  The Jaguar Rescue Center is a place that takes in injured wild animals and rehabilitates them.  They nurture them until they are strong enough to return them to the wild.  Some animals are so badly injured they cannot survive in the wild again.

While being there we saw many different animals.  The first animals we saw were all snakes. We saw three Eyelash Pit Vipers; one was brown, one was yellow and one was green.  They are very poisonous!  We also saw a Fer-de-Lance (they were the most deadliest that we saw) and a tropical Rattlesnake.  It is so humid in Costa Rica that the rattles on the rattlesnake don’t actually make any sound making them even more dangerous than normal.
The rest of the animals were much cuter.  We saw a bunch of baby three-toed sloths. They were so cute.  They looked like they had pig noses.

We also got to pet a deer. The deer was a female and she liked to lick us.

We got to see an ocelot and margay. Those are both types of big cats.

My favorite thing was going in to the monkey enclosure. We got to go inside and have the monkeys climb on us!  There were babies and bigger monkeys.

Some White Face Capuchin monkeys and some Howler monkeys.  We were not allowed to take cameras into the enclosure, the monkeys try to steal them.  It was a lot of fun.
We really liked the Jaguar Rescue Center in Punta Uva.  If you are in the area, you should go!
