Arenal!

One of the most popular volcanoes in Costa Rica is called Arenal. Arenal is about 1,600 meters above sea-level.
We went to Arenal to go to the hot springs. We stayed at a resort called Tabacon. Tabacon is named after a town that was destroyed in 1968, the last time the volcano erupted. Tabacon has a series of geothermal pools that you can swim in that are all heated by the volcano. The pools are different temperatures and some are mixed with cool river water as the different streams flow through the park.

One of the pools that is a mild temperature even has a slide that runs in to it.
The same pool also has a place where you can swim up and eat while sitting in the water!
We also checked out some other pools--the hot ones were my favorite.
It was a lot of fun and I would like to go back some time!
Ciao!
