Nicaragua!

We went on vacation to Granada, Nicaragua.
Granada is a little town on the Lago de Nicaragua (Lake of Nicaragua). The Lago de Nicaragua is 99 miles across in some places! The hotel we stayed at was called Hotel con Corazón. It had a giant chess board.

Arenal!

One of the most popular volcanoes in Costa Rica is called Arenal. Arenal is about 1,600 meters above sea-level.
We went to Arenal to go to the hot springs. We stayed at a resort called Tabacon. Tabacon is named after a town that was destroyed in 1968, the last time the volcano erupted. Tabacon has a series of geothermal pools that you can swim in that are all heated by the volcano. The pools are different temperatures and some are mixed with cool river water as the different streams flow through the park.
