Food in Costa Rica!

On our first morning here I tried casado for breakfast. It is a typical Costa Rican meal. It always has beans, rice, plantains, and some kind of protien, like chicken, fish or eggs. It wasn't my favorite because at that restaurant they mix the beans and rice together.
Since then I have tried the lunch and dinner casados at some local sodas (like a little cafe). YUM!!!!
Then someone recomended the Panderia in Cabuya, so we went there for lunch. If you ever find yourself in Cabuya you should totally eat there.

We looked at the menu for a little while and I decided to get the pineapple, lemon, and orange smoothie. That is the best smoothie EVER!!!!!
I also got noodles with chicken and white sauce.
My mom got a salad, and my dad got a fish pita.

It was so good we went back the next weekend. There was a lot of traffic on the road that day! :-)
Even the food at the grocery store is different. My sister discovered her new favorite fruit called a lychee--which is actually Chinese but is a common snackfood here.
Since the smoothies in Cabuya, we also got some smoothies in Cobano, at a place called Cosechas. I got one with watermelon, strawberries, and lemon. It was not my favorite.
The food here is definitely different than at home, but it's all part of the adventure.
Pura Vida!!
